Strategic collaboration between Microomics and the company Paralab Bio

By | Uncategorized

Microomics continues to progress towards their vision of becoming a leading national and European provider of metagenomic analysis.

From now on, Microomics Systems S.L. will be available among the services offered by the company Paralab Bio thanks to the commercial agreement between the two entities. In so doing, Paralab Bio will offer for the first time the service of this type of analysis to their customers.

Paralab Bio (www.paralab-bio.es) is a division of Paralab, created in 2017 with the aim of segmenting its areas of activity. This division distributes scientific equipment for all areas of biosciences (especially with the object of study focused on proteins, genetic material, or cells), both at academic and laboratory or industrial level. Paralab was founded in 1992 to act as a distributor of scientific equipment for industrial and laboratory applications. It has thus become a reference company in the sector.

With this collaboration, Microomics aims to reach more companies and research groups interested in the study of the microbiome. Our 360° comprehensive service includes advice at all stages of a project, from evaluating which metagenomic tool is the most suitable for the type of sample, through the stages of molecular biology (nucleic acid extraction and library preparation) and bioinformatics and statistical analysis, which is all summarized in a final delivery report.

This agreement represents the continuous growth that the company is experiencing, which allows us to gradually approach our business vision and excellence in our services.

We are very happy to share with you our first anniversary. In October 2017 Microomics registered as a spin-off company of the CRG and ICREA. This was an important milestone after more than one year of incubating the idea and developing the project and business plan. Microomics was born with the mission of bringing advanced innovative solutions in the field of the analysis of microbial communities and their roles. Since then, we have expanded our portfolio of services and customers to several sectors including Biomedicine, Agriculture, and Industry. In every project we strive to be the best partner, contributing to all project phases, from design to interpretations of results, going through processing of samples, sequencing and computational and statistical analyses.  We are facing our second year with the highest enthusiasm as our perspective is to further expand and engage in new interesting projects.

To celebrate this important date, we would like to offer you a 10% discount for all new projects, from 16S Bacterial Metagenomics or ITS Fungal Metagenomics, contracted before the end of 2018. Please mention the following promotion code when making your order: MICRO001X.

Yours sincerely,

The last 9-13 June took place in Valencia (Spain) the 7th congress of European Microbiologist, promoted by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) and the Spanish Society for Microbiology (SEM). Established in 1974, FEMS is now an active and diverse federation of 53 European learned societies that includes around 30,000 professionals who are committed to advancing microbiology for the benefit of society.  Located in 36 European countries, around half of these professionals are early career researchers, and the remainder include industry scientists, established academics, educators and campaigners. The Spanish Society for Microbiology (SEM) hosted the meeting.

This meeting put in scene an excellent joint scientific programme covering many disciplines and relevant hot research topics in microbiology: antimicrobial resistance and infections, food microbiology, sustainability, climate change as well as other fundamental topics in microbiology were covered.  With more than 5,000 scientific presentations Pedro Gonzalez, Microomics CEO and SEM member, assisted to this strategic meeting, and took the opportunity to present some of his own scientific research and network with  with collaborators.
