Microomics offers its customers the possibility to act as a biobank, taking care of the samples of the projects, guaranteeing the optimal quality and safety of the samples and preserving them in excellent conditions.

In order to work effectively as a biobank, we have implemented, among other things, the standardisation of the protocols used and the establishment of an appropriate methodology for the coding and identification of the samples, with complex techniques that affect the collection of the sample, its transport, reception, processing and traceability, storage and conservation at different temperatures, the recovery of the stored sample and the computer processing of the data. 

All this is possible because we also have highly qualified technical staff.

Microomics consolidates as a member of the IAC (Industrial Advisory Committee), and we will present at stand nr. 18 of the SEMPyP Congress (Spanish Society of Microbiota, Probiotics and Prebiotics), which will be held at the Melià Hotel in Seville, on 21, 22 and 23 February 2024.

It is a new opportunity to have a multidisciplinary vision to exchange knowledge and experiences, and to be updated on the latest developments in different areas, from teaching and research to clinical care.

MICROOMICS participates on December 15th , 16th , and 17th , along with the Blood and Tissue Bank of Barcelona and the Department of Cellular Biology, Physiology, and Immunology of the Faculty of Medicine at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, in Bitsxlamarató 2023, which focuses on sexual and reproductive health.

The proposal supported by Microomics focuses on the role of the seminal microbiome in fertility and the investigation of differential profiles of microorganisms associated with reproductive problems. It also involves the development of bioinformatics and statistical tools that can shed light and provide solutions to modulate the microbiome of patients with fertility issues, thus improving their sexual and reproductive health.

An important part of male reproductive problems originates from molecular or cellular alterations such as sperm motility, sperm DNA fragmentation, or oxidative stress. The cause of these alterations is often unknown, but recent studies indicate that the microbiota could be involved. A bioinformatics platform that allows linking the metabolic and genomic information of bacteria associated with fertility parameters, and identifying bacterial groups with specific biological functions, will help to understand the cause of these alterations and explore probiotic solutions to improve the reproductive success of patients.

Once again, Microomics supports a call within the framework of La Marató de TV3.

MICROOMICS makes official the opening of its sales delegation in the Parque Científico de Madrid (PCM) through an Elevator Pitch, presented by its Business Developer Manager.  

This milestone means that Microomics now has a physical presence in Madrid, offering its services and solutions in the analysis of the microbiome, in a much more direct and closer way to the public and private sector of the Community.

In our desire to collaborate with the scientific community and contribute to studying the main challenges that, as a society, we face regarding our health, MICROOMICS is sponsoring the IV Scientific Conference CIAL FORUM 2023, organised by the Food Science Research Institute of Madrid (CIAL, CSIC-UAM), which will be held on 19 and 20 October in Madrid, with the participation of research centres, universities and companies that work in the Community of Madrid. This milestone coincides with the expansion of our facilities by incorporating a new sales office in the Barcelona Health Hub and another sales office in the Parque Científico of Madrid. 

In order to reach every corner and field, we have strengthened the Sales Department with sales representatives by geographical areas under the supervision of a Sales Manager, while implementing resources aimed at scientific and technical advice to meet the needs of our clients and to consolidate our position as the integral platform of reference.

The increase in the current market demand, as well as the European guidelines on sustainability, and growth of databases, have aided the growth of the sector, and increased the understanding of metagenomic approaches in different sectors of our industry. In order to be able to reach all of them and contribute to this growth and development path, Microomics has reinforced its Sales Department in a wide and sustainable way, structuring it in Area Sales Representatives, under the supervision of a Sales Manager.

Currently, our sales representatives cover various regions of Spain, with the aim of meeting the growing demand in key sectors, as well as providing disruptive solutions, as a service company, but also, as a technology partner in the development of tools and new products.

This strategy allows us to consolidate our position within the biotechnology companies field, expand our areas of operations and services, reinforcing our brand and becoming a national benchmark.

Microomics continues to increase its presence in the main national events, this month in the agri-food and biotech sector.

We participate as Platinum Sponsor and with Stand (Nr. 5) in the Fourth International Legume Society Conference, to be held in Granada from 19 th to 22 nd September at the Palacio de Congresos de Granada.

And then, we will return to Barcelona to participate with stand (nr. 160) in BIOSPAIN, one of the largest international biotechnology congresses in Europe, to be held from 26 th to 28 th September at the Fira de Barcelona in Montjuïc.
