Sergio Manresa graduated in Biotechnology from the Miguel Hernández University in Elche and continued his academic training with a master’s degree in Biomedical Biotechnology from the Universitat Politècnica de València. During his master’s degree, he delved into the knowledge of -omic techniques and their application in the study of the microbiome, making publications on the human gut microbiota and its potential role in Crohn’s disease.
A first stay in the private sector of genetic sequencing allowed him to expand his knowledge in Next-Generation Sequencing, as well as the techniques of molecular biology and data analysis associated with metagenomics, which it strengthened during its later stage in the public sector. Also, due to its interdisciplinary nature, she is currently studying a master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and Universitat de Barcelona.
