Sergio Garcia holds a PhD in Cell Biology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) (Cum Laude), with a master’s degree in Cytogenetics and Reproductive Biology and a degree in Genetics from the same university.
His research career, especially focused on molecular genetics, has allowed him to work in laboratories as diverse as the Vall d’Hebron Hospital, the Centre for Male Infertility and Analysis of Barcelona (CIMAB), the Blood and Tissue Bank of Barcelona (BST) or the Unit of Cell Biology and Medical Genetics of the UAB, university department where he finally developed his doctoral thesis focused on the seminal microbiota and the integrity of sperm DNA.
He has also been involved in volunteer activities as an environmental educator, and has published several articles on the microbiome and male reproductive health with genomics and new technologies as the backbone of his work.
The combined experience of academic and scientific-technical vision makes Dr. GarcÍa an excellent communicator and scientific advisor expert in experimental design, project coordination and technological innovation.
